Troubleshooting Spray Patterns
In this article, unfortunately I dont have access to a digital camera, I will try to explain the different spray patterns and what they mean while troubleshooting your airbrush and technique.
Q. My paint is just coming out spattery, what can I do?
A. More than likely your paint is simply too thick. You can try to thin it down, but also you need to look at the paint you are using and how fine of a needle your airbrush has. Some paints are simply just too thick for some airbrushes, and thinning the paint doesnt work very well, due to the pigments seperating too much.

Backflushing (Pre Cleaning)
Ok, so you're doing some airbrushing. Ive been asked so much on the subject of...
"Do I really have to clean the airbrush out with every different color change?".
My answer is normally "No".

Beginners Airbrushing Practice

Ok I know this has been done to death everywhere, but I do feel these types of drills can make a more profficient beginner airbrush artist. It creates a familiarity with the tool, and gives you more control over the airbrush.
This is written assuming you are using a double action airbrush.
1) The first thing I would teach somebody to do upon them being an absolute beginner, is the dot activity.
Looking at the first picture, you would start spraying in one spot, very lightly, and whilst doing this bring more paint and air through the airbrush.
